La Union submits proposed ₱3.31-billion budget for 2027 review

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — September 25, 2026
The Provincial Government of La Union has submitted a proposed ₱3.31-billion budget for fiscal year 2027 to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for review and deliberation.

According to the provincial government’s September 25 announcement, the proposed budget totals ₱3,311,866,003 and was turned over to the provincial board on September 16, ahead of the Local Government Code deadline.

The proposal is intended to support public services and development priorities, including social and economic programs, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, community development, and other government operations.

The provincial board is expected to examine the proposed spending plan through budget hearings. This process allows the board to review allocations, assess funding needs, and consider whether proposed expenditures align with the province’s development objectives.

The submitted amount should not be interpreted as a final or fully approved budget. The appropriation process must proceed through the applicable legislative and administrative requirements before the figures can be treated as enacted spending authority.

For residents, the most useful information will be the final allocation by sector and program, along with the results of the board’s review. These details can help the public understand how proposed spending is expected to support health services, education, agriculture, infrastructure, disaster preparedness, and local economic development.
