TANGGUYOB
Ipangaga ti Timek Mo — Sound Your Voice
Every community has stories worth hearing. Tangguyob is Ilocos News’ space for readers to share perspectives, raise concerns, celebrate community initiatives, and contribute to public conversation. Through letters, opinion pieces, and firsthand accounts, we invite you to speak clearly, thoughtfully, and respectfully about the issues that matter to the people of Ilocos and Northern Luzon.
Why “Tangguyob”?
The name recalls the traditional horn associated with calling people together and making announcements heard across a community. Tangguyob carries that spirit into today’s public conversation: a place where local voices can be heard, ideas can be considered, and community concerns can receive attention.
We welcome praise and criticism, personal experiences, and constructive proposals. Strong opinions belong in a healthy public conversation when they are grounded in facts, expressed fairly, and open to scrutiny.

Submission Guidelines
Help Us Review Your Submission
- Be accurate. Check names, dates, locations, figures, and claims. Make clear what is fact, personal experience, or opinion.
- Identify yourself. Include your full name, barangay and municipality, and a reliable contact method for editorial verification.
- Keep it focused. We recommend 300–800 words for letters and opinion pieces.
- Submit original work. Disclose if the piece has been published elsewhere or submitted to another publication.
- Include evidence when relevant. Links, documents, photographs, and other supporting material can help us assess the submission.
Our Editorial Standards
- We do not publish unlawful threats, hate speech, harassment, or content known to be false.
- Unsupported allegations against identifiable people or organizations may be declined or held pending verification.
- We do not publish unnecessary private information without a clear public-interest justification.
- Plagiarism, undisclosed paid promotion presented as independent opinion, and material that infringes others’ rights may be rejected.
- Where appropriate, editors may seek a response from people or institutions named in serious allegations.
Editing, Verification, and Anonymity
Submissions may be edited for length, clarity, grammar, and house style without changing their essential meaning. Our team may contact you to verify details or request further information. Sending a submission does not guarantee publication; editorial decisions depend on relevance, verification, space, and our publication standards.
Requests to withhold a contributor’s name will be considered individually and must be agreed upon by the editorial team before publication. Please do not assume that a submission is anonymous or confidential simply because you request it. Avoid sending sensitive personal information through ordinary email.
