The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte held its monthly One-Stop Shop Kabayanihan Program last April 8, 2014 together with sponsoring agencies Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) wherein 92 applicants from Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur were served.

OFW One-Stop Processing CenterIlocosNorteAccording to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), there are 17 new one-stop processing centers (OSPC) located in 11 regions throughout the country. They are now operating for the processing of the requirements of Overseas Filipino workers (OFW) which includes the One-Stop Shop Kabayanihan Program of the Province.

OFW Desk Officer Dolorez Cortez said, “The One-Stop Shop Kabayanihan Program offers convenience to Ilocano OFW’s since they do not need to go to the Regional Office of POEA at the Province of La Union for the processing of their requirements and most especially the services of the NBI, OWWA, POEA and Pag-ibig are already housed in one location which is found at the Provincial Capitol.”

It provides the following services: issuance of Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC) by POEA, OWWA membership processing, payments for the Pag-ibig Fund, release of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance and other welfare concerns.

“The One-Stop Shop Kabayanihan Program of the province started since Gov. Imee Marcos started her administration because OFW’s are one of her priorities in the province,” Cortez said.
The program began last 2010. It is done every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
