Foreign sports enthusiasts and professionals continue to eye Ilocos Norte’s beaches as the best destination in the country as they continue to arrive in the province for extreme water sports experience.
According to Mr. Mon Manotok of Kingfisher Beach who hosts Cabrinha and his team, aside from the two towns in the north, Team Cabrinha also plans to see Badoc Island to explore the possibility of developing the island for extreme water sports and a commercial shoot for the Cabrinha brand.
Initial test surfing by the team was done last Monday along the shores of Bangui Windmills where Susi Mai of Germany and Reo Stevens of Hawaii, both professional windsurfers enjoyed the strong and gusty winds. Mai has won Queen of the Air three times in a row in Hawaii, an international windsurfing competition while Stevens is a champion of various kitesurfing events in the Asia- pacific and United States.
Pete Cabrinha is an American big-wave windsurfer/kite surfer and the founder of Cabrinha Kites, a brand which is widely used by extreme water sports professionals.
