Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. underscored the importance of statistics in everyday life describing it as “source of useful information necessary for existence.”
The Governor made the statement during the culmination and awarding rites ending the month-long celebration of the 22nd National Statistics Month today, November 4, at the Pangasinan Training Center and Development Center here.
Statistics, he pointed out, plays a vital role to everyone from birth to death wherein one is obliged to secure pertinent documents from the National Statistics Office (NSO).
The Governor said that Pangasinan has a lot of things to be proud of in terms of statistics-related accomplishments and cited, among others, the recent establishment of the National Statistics Information Center (NSIC) satellite at the Malong building, the first in Luzon and sixth in the country located within the Capitol compound. Pangasinan was also conferred the Hall of Fame award for being the best LGU implementer of various statistical activities for the past three years.
The significant breakthroughs, according to the Governor, can be attributed to the united efforts of the provincial government, various coordinating agencies, and the people, as well.
Governor Espino congratulated all the winners in the various competitions conducted during the NSM celebration.
