



SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Oct. 27 (PIA) -– Two days from now, the captivating waves of Urbiztondo Sea where the now known Surfing area is located will surely be flocked by both local and foreign tourists, students on semestral break as well as surfing enthusiasts from the neophytes to the expert ones.
Starting this year, from October 28 until the 30th, the La Union Surfing Break 6 (LUSB 6) in the municipality of San Juan will again prove its distinction as the “Surfing Capital of the North” and of the whole country in terms of participants and visitors.
The event which is conducted just two days ahead of the holidays for the coming “Undas” features fun and physically-focused activities like the beach volleyball, sand castle competition, beach parties, Octoberfest, live band, Sala ti Dalluyon (Dance with the Waves), Surfing Bodies, and of course, the surfing competition.
Wanting to ensure safety and security of participants, the area and the event as a whole, La Union Police Provincial Office Director PSenior Superintendent Ramon O. Purugganan said that all the police personnel under his command will be on full alert for this event.
Coast Guard North Luzon District Lieutenant Junior Grade Jay Tarriela said that they will double their guards for the activity, side-by-side with their incident command system to ensure safety of beach goers and tourists.
As a yearly undertaking, San Juan police assures an efficient traffic plan and vicinity watch.
Considered as a big event for it has been sustained for six years now, the LUSB 6 projects an influx of attendees that will boost the municipal and provincial tourism industry that is also foreseen to positively encourage investors, idea transfers and small business start-ups.
