



BAGUIO CITY, Oct. 26 (PIA)– This mountain resort city is ready for the 62nd Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament slated from November 21 to December 10.
More than 1,000 golfers from 220 teams coming from different parts of the Asia Pacific Region will be hosted by the Camp John Hay Golf Club and the Baguio Country Club.
Baguio Country Club resident manager Shin Paul Chan said the tournament will be a big boost to the city’s economy, and will be big help to the revitalize the tourism sector particularly the hospitality and service sectors.
He assured that they will give the golfers the best tournament service and let them feel how good it is being in Baguio.
CJH Manor and the Baguio Country Club as well as all the other hotels and transient house in the city are ready to serve the participants. Most of the tourist spots in the city and nearby places will also be visited by the golfers,” Chan stressed.
Steven J. Mcdonald, general manager of CJH Golf Club, said bigger prizes and surprises await the participants. There will be a special award for the first golfer who will score a hole-in-one.
World renowned golfer Jack Nicklaus designed the CJH golf course which is very challenging, Mcdonald said.
The Fil-Am Golf is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest amateur golf tournament.
